What is Tours of Leeds?

Tours of Leeds was founded, and is run independently, by Mike Hampshire, a Leeds born-and-bred local with a passion for his city. Mike offers multi award-winning guided and audio tours of Leeds, including the Leeds Heritage Pub and Brewery guided tour and the This is Leeds audio tour. Tours of Leeds have been the recipient of the 'Specialist Tour Company of the Year' award for Yorkshire on three occasions. Tours of Leeds was originally founded as Leeds Beer Tours in 2019, before changing name in 2024.

How do I book onto a tour or experience?

To book, visit the Tours webpage and click on the experience you would like to book for more details.

Do you do private group tours?

Yes, private group tours are available, for group sizes of 6 or more. This is ideal for those who want a private tour with family, friends or colleagues. Visit the Private Tours webpage, where private group bookings can be requested.

Do I need to print my tickets to show the guide?

For guided tours, please bring tickets with you. Showing your ticket on a mobile device is fine.

Is there a minimum number of people to be able to make a booking?

To avoid cancellations, for the first booking of every guided tour, a minimum of two people are required. Once that minimum has been met, then individual tickets will become available. If you are booking for one person and can't book the tour date you would like, please choose another date, or try again later.

My plans have changed, can I change my booking?

Email with your booking details, which date you would like to change to and I will do my best to accommodate. You may be charged a fee for the change. You can find out more details on this on the Terms and Conditions webpage.

Can I get a refund?

This depends on how soon before the tour and the cicumstances around why you wish to cancel. You can find out more details on this on the Terms and Conditions webpage.

What happens if an experience is postponed or cancelled?

In the event of postponement or cancellation, I will contact you to explain your options. These options may include refund, re-booking and/or replacing your ticket with a Gift Card. You can find out more details on this on the Terms and Conditions webpage.

Gift Cards

Can I buy gift cards from you?

Yes, visit the Gift Cards webpage. Gift cards must be redeemed before the expiry date. You can either buy gift cards for an entire tour, or monetary value cards that will discount the price of a tour. Please note cards may not be redeemable against all tours available, please check the relevant tour listing and gift card description for details.

How do I redeem a gift card?

What drinks are included?

Some tours include drinks in the ticket price, please visit the relevant Tour listing on the Tours webpage to find out more.


What if I have certain dietary requirements?

Please email or let your guide know about this. Gluten-free, vegan-friendly and alcohol-free requests can be accommodated.

If I need to, how can I contact you on the day of an experience?

Your tickets include a contact phone number, please ring this.


General Questions


Are children and/or pets allowed?

Guided drinks experience tours are over-18 only. Babes-in-arms are also not allowed on the tour. Service animals are welcome, for others, please email with details of the pet you would like to bring. Although venues may be pet friendly, for the comfort of other guests they will be consulted first.

For other guided tours are all ages are welcome, as are pets although they must be kept on a leash at all times.

Audio tours are for all ages, although if you visit a venue to use a discounnt offer, please check with them first regarding any entry restrictions.


What else do I need to know?

Tours of Leeds operates a Code of Conduct which all participants on guided tours are expected to adhere to. This includes things like a ban on costume dress, treating others with respect, and not accepting guests who are under the influence of alcohol.

I'm going to have some luggage with me, is there somewhere that I can leave it during the tour?

Tours of Leeds have has partnered with Bounce to offer tour guests a discount when using their luggage storage service. Please send an email to  for the code.
